Alyssa has been dancing since the age of six when her passion for dance was first discovered. She has been trained in a variety of dance genres including Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Modern, Contemporary and Hip-Hop.
She began teaching in 2012 after a few years of student teaching where her talent for teaching and choreography was recognised and encouraged. Her commitment and dedication to dance was rewarded with being honoured with Studio Champion in 2009. As a teacher, her choreography has been well received at eisteddfods with many pleasing results and placings across both troupes and soloists.
Her students have received consistently high results in their Glenn Wood Tap examinations, with herself receiving Gold Awards (98+ in Grades 9-13). She has also completed B.A.L (Ballet & Tap_ Exams and Glenn Wood Tap lExams.
She has been fortunate enough to be given the opportunity to perform at many different locations and events and most recently was able to travel to America to perform at Disneyland and Universal Studios and take part in many workshops and classes with international choreographers.
She is a fully certified and qualified Acrobatic Arts Teacher (Module 1&2). She also has obtained her CERT IV Dance Teaching and Management and also holds her First Aid Certificate.
In addition to dance, she completed a Bachelor of Communication at the University of Newcastle majoring in Media Production and also holds a CERT III in Live Entertainment and Production, Theatre and Events (Technical Operations).
Alyssa still loves learning and performing and endeavours to continue to expand her qualifications and experience to share with her students.
